Charity Classic

The annual WWTA Charity Tennis Classic is held in conjunction with the Cary Tennis Classic, an ATP  & WTA Pro Challenger 100 Circuit event. Funds from the event are donated to Transitions LifeCare (formerly Hospice of Wake County) and used for WWTA scholarships. WWTA has raised over $350,000 for Transitions LifeCare and over $80,000 WWTA scholarships for area youth through this annual fundraiser.

The Charity Classic Tournament is an annual fundraiser benefiting Transitions LifeCare and WWTA Scholarships.  Since this event is held in conjunction with the Cary Tennis Classic, this means you may be playing on some of the same courts that professional players have been on. Join us for a morning of fun tennis, all while raising money for Transitions LifeCare.

If you are interested in donating baskets for the raffle, silent auction items, becoming a cash sponsor or serving on our committee helping to get sponsors in 2027, please contact Laura. We look forward to this community event each year because we have the best community!

Our 2026 Charity Classic was held on July 2nd with play staring starting early to beat the heat with doubles play in a few different format.  We had an online auction and participants received tickets to Cary Tennis Classic, lunch and a a swag bag.   See our sponsors and donations below!  We raised $6,500 for Transitions LifeCare and had fun doing it.  Thanks to our donors, sponsors, participants and volunteers for making it happen!

We are excited to add Charity Classic Second Serve on October 16th, 6:00 to about 8:30 at Kildaire Farm Racquet & Swim Club.  This will be a social mixer.  Doubles play but no need to come with a partner.  We have a format that truly mixes each group.

Click here to register as an individual for a doubles round robin social mixer to be held on October 16th.  There is no rain date and no refunds.

Check back here for the 2027 date!

WWTA would like to thank the Town of Cary, our sponsors ( Surety Systems, Premier Stringing, Sherry Lockhart Real Estate, Second Serve Podcast) – and donors, Charity Classic Committee members, volunteers and participants for their part in putting together a fun community event for a great cause.
