Volunteers are always needed to run tennis in the WWTA area.
Abilities Tennis Association of North Carolina (ATANC) is a non profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to raising awareness and developing adaptive tennis programs for persons with intellectual disabilities throughout the state of North Carolina. Their goal is to provide adaptive tennis programs year round through clinics, tournaments, and PE-Adaptive Tennis in the Public School systems. They work closely with USTA NC, Community Tennis Associations, Public School Systems, Parks and Recreation departments and Special Olympics of NC.
Tennis for Life (TFL) is an active support group for Breast Cancer Survivors who have never played tennis, haven’t played in awhile or who play all the time.
The WWTA Scholarship program supports our mission of promoting the game and spirit of tennis in Western Wake County. This program focuses on youth and supports the continued growth in skills for those showing dedication and promise (although this is not a skills based award) and also recognizes the applicants’ community involvement and volunteerism.
