Congratulations, you’ve decided to start a team! Starting a team is easy to do and we are here to help you along the way. If you have any questions during this process, please contact our USTA Local League Coordinator, Carol. Let’s get started…

Gather a Few of Your Friends

Gather a few of your friends and fellow players that want to play on a team together.  Don’t worry if you don’t have enough players to fill out the team.  We’ve got a great program that can help you find players looking for a team.  Check out our Find A Player program if you need additional players.

Team Number Requests for Public and Private Facilities

Decide if you will be playing out of a private club or public facility.

If you are a member at a private facility and will be using those courts as your home base, you will need approval from your private club to have a team out of their facility.  Once you have approval, you can request your team number for Prestonwood, MacGregor Downs, Lochmere, Club at Sunset, Kildaire Farms, Carolina Preserve, or Wimbledon.

If you will be using Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, Morrisville, Clayton or Fuquay-Varina as your home facility, WWTA will provide your team number.  These courts are available on a first come first served basis per playday/time slot.

Go to the league page for the league are registering to find the link to request your team number – Adult Spring, Mixed, Tri-Level, Summer Singles, Combo or Fall Singles.  Each league has its own form to fill out and can be found on those pages.

Register

Once you have received your team number check the USTA Calendar under the appropriate season to see when registration opens.  Once registration opens, the captain should be the first person to register for the team on TennisLink (making sure to check the box indicating they are a captain).  After the captain has registered,  the team number and registration instructions should be distributed to the rest of the players on the team.

Check the League Calendar

Check the USTA League Calendar (links above) for the appropriate season and take note of all the important dates. There is a date when you need to have a minimum number of players registered on TennisLink or face the possibility that the team may fold.

Captains Agreement Form

All Captains are required to fill out the Captains Agreement Form

USTA Waiver

If your team is playing out of Apex or Morrisville, ALL registered players are required to fill out the USTA Waiver.
