Charity Classic

The annual WWTA Charity Tennis Classic is held in conjunction with the Cary Tennis Classic, an ATP Pro Challenger Circuit event. Funds from the event are donated to Transitions LifeCare (formerly Hospice of Wake County) and used for WWTA scholarships. WWTA has raised over $325,000 for Transitions LifeCare and over $70,000 WWTA scholarships for area youth through this annual fundraiser.

The Charity Classic Tournament is an annual ladies doubles event taking place in August. Since this event is held in conjunction with the Cary Tennis Classic, this means you may be playing on some of the same courts that professional players have been on. Join us for a morning of fun tennis, all while raising money for Transitions LifeCare.

In 2023, we held our morning event on September 13th. We had 125 participants and volunteers and raised $13,500 for Transitions LifeCare and $3,000 for our WWTA Youth Scholarships. We were able do to this with limited sponsor cash donations, many raffle/auction item donations, 110 participants (and 15 volunteers), and tennis courts donated by Cary Tennis Park. What a great tennis community we have. Our 2024 Charity Classic will be held on Friday, August 16th.  Space is limited and we sell out every year! Cost is $140 per team and includes round robin tennis, goody bag, snacks, lunch and tickets to Cary Tennis Classic.  Click here (coming late May) to register. Only team registrations can be accepted, and there is no rain date and no refunds.
