Each year, WWTA conducts a charity tournament with the gracious help and sponsorship from area businesses , to raise funds for Hospice of Wake County and for WWTA scholarships. In 2008, the Charity Tennis Classic added men’s and mixed doubles tournaments in the afternoon in parallel with a free clinic for children. The evening was capped by a dinner and exhibition matches. Even before the event, donations have topped the total gross receipts for previous years. The 2009 event was enjoyable and a positive contribution to our community raising more than $21,500. We will do it all over again in September, 2010, with the 5th annual WWTA Charity Tennis Classic...where your swing really can make a difference.
